This weekend I turned another year older — and oh how I enjoyed every moment of my birthday weekend. When your birthday lands on a Friday you get to celebrate the entire weekend, right? Well, that’s what I told myself anyways.
Friday, (the big day) was celebrated with red velvet cake and a late dinner reservation at Uchiko. A 9pm reservation to be exact. Which made me feel very mature and European, HA (side note: I’m usually a grandma and in bed most nights by 9). Getting back to dinner… I highly recommend the wagyu beef, shishito pepper, and milk ‘n cereal.
Leisure Saturday mornings rank pretty high on my list of things that bring me joy, so it was only appropriate to ditch setting an alarm. After a casual start to the morning, we made our way over to Mattie’s for Brunch. I can’t believe I’ve never been before (and I will definitely be back). The 1946 stately manor defines southern charm. We enjoyed brunch on the patio, overlooking the oak trees and listening to the cicadas buzz…it doesn’t get better than that.
Sunday was a low-key day, we hung my birthday present — an oil painting of San Francisco…I can’t stop looking at it. The afternoon ended with a trip to the spa for a massage. This weekend was complete bliss!
